±0 “FAN,” a winner of Good Design Awards 2008 (by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization), is launched in several countries in the European market – Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland – from the beginning of June 2009.

Cases where fans are used to circulate the air inside a room where an air conditioner is also in use are on the rise recently. Catering to the demand for a fan that is convenient in its size, that is short, and that doesn’t interfere with the interior décor of your room, ±0 designed this appealing fan. A sense of simple solidness is achieved by covering not only the blades but also the motor with a wire guard. The thick round base adds a chunky feel to it. Comes in white, black, and gray. This is something that people are going to want to get their hands on.

- A chunky form with a sense of unity to it
The chunky shape, with not only the blades but the motor also covered with a wire guard, is a distinctive feature of this design. By making the blades, the wire guard, and the base – all made of different materials – the same color, a simple clean impression is generated.

- A size that seemed to exist before but didn’t
While being a short desktop type fan that can be used anywhere, the blades still maintain the standard 30cm diameter, which assures a substantial flow of air despite its compact appearance. Comes with a remote control unit, too.

- Function that allows you to adjust the airflow
In addition to the basic three airflow operating levels – low, medium, and high -- ±0 FAN is also equipped with a “rhythm” mode that simulates a natural breeze and a “night” mode that gradually lowers the amount of airflow as time passes. Has an “off” timer that can be set for 1, 2, or 4 hours.
